TRAP PROPERTIES OF ELECTROLUMINESCENT ZnS PHOSPHORS

Thesis/Dissertation ·
OSTI ID:4677472

The occupation of traps in electroluminescent ZnS phosphors by field excitation at low temperatures is studied. The results indicate that trap occupation for field excitation is only 1/1000 of that for UV excitation. Explanations for this effect are given. Voltage and frequency dependences of trap occupation and of electroluminescence are not the same. The different behavior can be explained by assuming an occupation of traps by diffusion. The construction of an apparatus for the measurement of frequency factors for frequencies up to 2 Mc is described. (Gmelin Inst.)
