SPIN-PARITY DETERMINATION OF THE $pi$ RESONANCE (1.530 Gev)

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
The XI pi resonance at 1.530 Bev, which was produced by meson (K/sup -/) reactions in a hydrogen bubble chamber at 1.801.95 Bev/c, was investigated. A complete angular correlation study of the decay sequence XI /sup *o/ yields XI /sup -/ + pi /sup +/, XI /su p -/ yields LAMBDA + pi /sup -/ is reported. lt is concluded that the simplest spin-parity assignment of the resonance is (3/2)/sup +/.
