IMPROVEMENTS IN PRESSURE VESSELS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4675658
Tight seals can be formed between the two parts in which a pressure vessel is constructed by forming adjacent rings and slots on the interior and exterior of the parts near and parallel to the edges to be joined. Steel plates on the interior and exterior of the vessel are positioned perpendicular to the joint and engage the slots and rings with corresponding rings and slots. Bolts through the plates and vessel tie the parts together. A curved cylindrical shell welded over this joint on the outside seals it. (D.C.W.).
