RECOMBINATION LUMINESCENCE SPECTRA IN KCI CRYSTALS ACTIVATED WITH MERCURY- LIKE IONS (in Russian)

By means of photoelectric methods, recombination luminescence spectra (spectra of optical flash stimulated in the F-band, thermoluminescence, and phosphorescence) in KCl(Ga), KCl(In), KCl(Tl), KCl(Sn), and KCl(Pb) phosphors previously excited with x rays were measured. It is shown that the spectral composition of electronic recombinational luminescence corresponds in the main to the activator ions in phosphors activated both by monovaient (Ga/sup +/, In/sup +/ , Tl/sup +/) and bivalent (Sn/sup 2+/ and Pb/sup 2+/) ions. In the hole stages of the relaxation processes (in the temperature range of 100 to 150 c- K) thermoluminescence of KCl(In) and KCl(Ga) phosphors involves emission of In/ sup +/ and Ga/sup +/ ions. No luminescence of Tl/sup +/ ions in KCl(Tl) phosphor in this region was observed. In phosphors with several types of emission centers STAKCl(Tl) and KCl(In,Tl)! complex redistribution of emission band intensities was observed during the relaxation processes. After uv excitatl on of the KCl(In,Tl) phosphor in the /sup 1/S/sub 0/ ons in pyrolyti /sup 1/P/sub 1/ absorption band o f In/sup +/-ions only indium radiation could be detected in thermoluminescence. Some aspects of the mechanism of the transfer of recombination energy to emission centers are discussed. (auth)
