INDUCTION OF MUTATIONS IN BARLEY WITH ULTRA-VIOLET RADIATION

Journal Article · · Nature

Soaking of barley seeds in water for 4 hr and oxygen saturation of seeds were effective in increasing the mutation rate in barley seeds exposed to uv radiation when the treatment was given before irradiation. No effect was observed when the seeds were treated after radiation exposure. (C.H.)
