IMPROVING THE DUTY CYCLE OF THE HARWELL SYNCHROCYCLOTRON

The addition of a separate r-f supply and accelerating electrode to the Harwell synchrocyclotron, and the effects of this electrode upon the duty cycle of the proton beam emitted by the machine, are described. The duty cycle of the beam with the electrode operating is measured as 0.7. (T.F.H.)
