REACTOR PLANT CONTAINER INTEGRITY TEST (AIR LOCK TEST). Test Evaluation

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4664462
The integrity of the six airlocks is investigated by an air pressure test, visual inspection, and operating check. The reactor plant container airlocks will maintain integrity if the handwheel shaft packing giands are tightened to give shaft torques of 7 ft-lb. The test could therefore be supplemented by a regular maintenance check of the handwheel shaft torque and packing gland adjustment. The he torque required to return the handwheel shafts. (auth) Tests to establish a positive bolt tightness for the container hatches, reactor dome, and the container stop joints and to inspect the chamber interconnections and pipe penetrations were made. A positive bolt tightness existed on the container hatches, reactor dome, and container stop joints. The condition of the interconnections between the chambers and all pipe penetrations of the reactor plant container was satisfactory. Zero leakage from the reactor plant container to the gravity drain tank was observed. (auth)
