4$pi$-COUNTER FOR MEASURING ABSOLUTE ACTIVITY OF $beta$-EMITTING MATERIALS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Vestn. Mosk. Univ., Ser. II, Khim.
OSTI ID:4663587
Descriptions are given of the design and performance of a 4 pi counter operating with line-supply methane and technical cylinder-supplied methane. Absolute activity measurements of solutions containing radioisotopes with various BETA spectra (Ca/sup 45/, Tl/sup 204/, and P/sup 32/) showed that the accuracy of absolute activity increases with the maximum of BETA -emitter energy. The results of four experiments showed standard deflection for the four experiments determined with 95% accuracy was for P/sup 32/(E /sub max/ = 1.71 Mev) 4.5% and for Ca/sup 45/(E/sub max/- 0.254 Mev) 10%.
