NEW DATA ON In-Se CONSTITUTION DIAGRAM (in Russian)

Constitution diagrams were constructed for a wide range of In--Se concentrations based on the thermal microstructure analyses. A compound of In/ sub 5/Se/sub 6/ with incongruent melting at 660 plus or minus 10 deg and polymorphous transformation alpha in equilibrium BETA 550 plus or minus 10 deg was found. Microstructure and microhardness of alpha -In/sub 2/Se/sub 3/, alpha -In/sub 5/Se/sub 6/, InSe, and In/sub 2/Se were determined. The microhardness of alpha -In/sub 5/Se exceeds that of alpha -In/sub 2/Se/sub 3/ and InS e by 5 to 6 times and is about 300 times as high as that of metallic In. (R.V.J.)
