Test for sex-linked lethals in irradiated mice

Journal Article · · Genetical Research
Attempts to devise a method for detecting sex-linked lethals in irradiated mice are described. Results are reported for 79 Tabby males irradiated with doses of 500 or 600 r and mated to femaies heterozygous for Bent- tail and Brindled in coupling. No sex-linked lethal was found but one sex-linked visible, a recessive anemia, was found. It was concluded that the difference in chromosome number accounts for the difference in induction of recessive lethals in irradiated Drosophila and mice. (C.H.)
