APPARATUS FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF /cap alpha/-$gamma$ ANGULAR CORRELATIONS

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods

Equipment for measuring alpha -- gamma angular correlations is described. The detectors employed are a 2' x 2' NaI(Tl) crystal for gamma rays and a silicon surface barrier counter for alpha rays. At an energy of 8 Mev, the alpha counter achieves a resolution of 100 kev at 5700 counts per second, and provides a signal suitable for a coincidence circuit with a 9 x 10/sup -9/ sec resolving time.
