A detector that has selective eifectiveness for the Sn/sup 119/ 23.8-kev gamma rays for registering emissions without recoil is presented. The principle of operation consists in registering internal conversion electrons that arise from resonance-excited nuclei of tin bearing compounds by means of an internal geiger counter. The linear absorption can be calculated from the resonance detector measurements. It is shown that the linear absorption width is affected less than for ordinary registration. Experimental results compared with plane resonance counters corroborates the accuracy of the calculations. Maximum measurements exceeding the calculation of resonance gamma rays above background was 250%. The effectiveness of the counter for registering emissions without the recoil of the Sn/sup 119/ gamma ray was 15% and for 25-kev roentgen rays, not greater than 0.2%. (tr-auth)
