GROUND ROUGHNESS EFFECTS ON THE ENERGY AND ANGULAR DISTRIBUTION OF GAMMA RADIATION FROM FALLOUT

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4656409
Measurements were made of gamma radiation over fallout fields in Nevada. The terrain types used were ilat dry lake beds, rough desert terrain, and plowed areas, and the measuring equipment was mounted on a truck along with a personnel shelter. Spectrometer measurements of angular and energy distribution and ion chamber measurements of dose vs. height were made. Dose angular distributions were obtained from the spectra and used to study the effect of ground roughness. (D. L. C.)
