REDUCTION OF BERYLLIUM OXIDE BY COAL IN PRESENCE OF NICKEL (in Russian)

Reduction of BeO by coal in the presence of Ni was carried out at 1800 to 2050 deg C. The products obtained contained up to 10 to 15% C. Further refining caused a loss of fine particles in the alloy. A maximum yield of De in BeNi alloy was found at 1900 deg C (5.0 wt% Be) with considerable graphite inclusions. (R.V.J.)
