DISTRIBUTION OF P$sup 32$ AFTER WHOLE-BODY IRRADIATION
>The incorporation of Na/sub 2/HP/sup 32/O/sub 4/ in the brain, muscles, bones, lungs, kidney, liver, testes, intestines, spleen, thymus, and the bone- marrow was investigated in nonirradiated rats as well as in rats irradiated with a dose of 600 r. The level of P/sup 32/ in the blood was also followed. The dynamics of the incorporation of the radioactive phosphorus was studied 24 hours, 3, 7, and 14 days after irradiation. A lower incorporation of P/sup 32/ in the radiosensitive organs of irradiated rats was observed that is statistically significant. The activity of P/sup 32/ is greater in the blood the first day after irradiation than in non-irradiated animals. A higher incorporation of the radioactive phosphorus was found in the bones of the irradiated rats. The results are discussed. (auth)
