THE ANALYSIS OF TWO-PION RESONANCES IN TWO-PRONG $pi$/to the minus/ -p INTERACTIONS AT 7-8 Gev
Two-prong events from pi /sup -/-p interactions in a propane bubble chamber exposed to a 7--8 Bev pi /sup -/ beam were investigated. The mass of the pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ system was calculated for all events and the resulting distributions were presented. In order to explain the experimental distribution as a sum of resonance and Monte Carlo distributions it was necessary to consider a new resonance with a mass of 922 plus or minus 30 Mev and a width of 150 Mev.
