LOCALIZATION OF HIGH-FREQUENCY INDUCTION DISCHARGE (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Tekhn. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4648959
It was found that a plasma loop stripped from the vacuum chamber wall and retained during the span of a high frequency pulse was formed in a high frequency induction discharge in a bell-shaped magnetic field at gas pressures over 1.0 mm Hg. Ionization, gas temperature, and plasma conductivity were determined, and a qualitative explanation for charge localization was given on the basis of a hydrodynamic model for weakly ionized plasma.
