BOILING WATER NUCLEAR REACTOR

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4648145
The design of a boiling water reactor using a combination of natural and forced circulation of coolant is patented. The reactor is supplied with subcooled feedwater, which is proportioned between separate regions of the reactor. The steam is separated from the water at separate locations for each region and conveyed to a point of use. The power output of the reactor is controlled by regulating the flow of water into the reactor as well as by the use of control rods. The separate core regions of the reactor are interested, and a pump is used to force the water up through the central core region. (M.P.G.)
