MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL EQUIPMENT OF THE ROSSENDORF RING ZONE REACTOR (in German)

Journal Article · · Kernenergie (East Germany)
OSTI ID:4647908
In order to assure safe and continuous operation of the RRR, its measurement and control equipment is relatively extensive. The most important source for the design was the knowledge gained in the operation of the WWR-S reactor. The measurement technology is based essentially on neutron flux measurements. Some conventional devices for measurement of the water level, flow- through, and temperatures complete the system. The control or shut-down of the reactor is effected by neutron absorbers arranged on the boundary of the fission zone. Operational safety is increased by a fast drainage of the moderator water. Electrical control circuits monitor the safety of the plant during shutdown and operation. (tr-auth)
