A GENERALIZATION OF THE PHASE-LAW OF LUNAR GEOMAGNETIC TIDES
ABS>The cause of lunar geomagnetic variations is considered. It is pointed out that the variations are believed to be caused by lunar diurnal motion of ionospheric layers. The electric conductivity of these layers is believed to vary with solar time in such a way that a maximum is reached about local noon, with low values prevailing during the night hours. A general scheme is presented to represent the daily variation of conductivity as a function of solar time t involving terms both in sin t and cos t. (C.H.)
