STUDY ON THE DEWATERING TREATMENT OF RADIOACTIVE SLUDGES

Journal Article · · Ann. Rept. Radiation Center Osaka Prefect.
OSTI ID:4644144

A comparison was made of the effects of polymer addition on volume reduction of sludges by settling, filtration, centrifuging, and freezing. An advantage was found in polymer addition in the freezing technique. The most effective dewatering method for bentonite-Konan Floc, calcium phosphate, and ferric hydroxide sludges is summarized. Vacuum filtration after freezing and thawing was considered to be the most effective method. (P.C.H.)
