UO$sub 2$ THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4639679· OSTI ID:4639679
The thermal conductivity of polycrystalline UO/sub 2/ was determined indirectly at 1900 to 2450 deg C, and the results are plotted on a conductivity vs temperature graph along with literature data for lower temperatures. The conductivity values at 1900 to 2450 deg C are nearly constant at approximates 0.018 w/cm- deg C, although a small upturn at temperatures above 2450 deg C is indicated. The determinations were made from measurements of the radial temperature profiles in irration energy of grain growth on these determinations are discussed. (D.L.C.)
