Improved analytical procedures are presented for the simultaneous determination of C, H, and N in solid organic materials by the gas volumetric method. By the removal of halogens and SO/sub 2/ from the combustion products and the complete reduction of NO and some minor modifications to take care of second-order corrections, the accuracy is improved, and the method is less dependent upon the analyst's technique.
