THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF URANYL NITRATE HEXAHYDRATE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4631047
The thermal decomposition of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate was studied in the temperature range of 250to 400 deg C at atmospheric and at <0.1 mm pressure. The intermediate and final products of the decomposition were determined. The decomposition follows a zero-order reaction until less than half of the uranyl nitrate remains. The remaining portion of the decomposition does not follow any simple kinetic interpretation. (auth)
