A range of derivatives of 2-amino-2-deoxy-l-thio-Dglucose, with removable blocking substituents at the amino and thiol groups, was synthesized by condensation of amino sugar glycosyl halides with thiourea, potassium thiolacetate, or potassium ethylxanthate.
