THE 5.11 AND 5.16 Mev LEVELS OF B$sup 1$$sup 0$

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
The 5.11 and 5.18 Mev levels in B/sup 10/ were studied using the Be/sup 9/(d,n)B/sup 10/ reaction. It is found that the 5.11 Mev state decays almost entirely by alpha emission and is probably a T = 0 state whereas the 5.16 Mev state decays almost entirely by gamma emission and is probably a T = 1 state. Angular distribution measurements were made which indicate that the 5.11 Mev state has J/sup pi / = 2/sup -/, and that the 5.18 Mev state has J/sup pi / = 2/ sup +/. No evidence was obtained for the new state postulated at 5.18 Mev. (auth)
