EFFECTS OF NEUTRON IRRADIATION ON THE THERMAL, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF GRAPHITE (in Italian)

Journal Article · · Termotechnica (Milan)
OSTI ID:4624126
The manufacture, moderating properties, and structure of graphite are reviewed. The damaging effects of irradiation on the electrical resistivity, thermal conductivity, specific heat, and Young's modulus, as well as variations of the lattice parameters and dimensional variations are discussed. Wigner energy stored in irradiated graphite and annealing at various temperatures to obtain a recovery effect are briefly dealt with. (TCO)
