THE HALF-LIFE OF THE 8.4 kev LEVEL IN Tm$sup 16$$sup 9$

Journal Article · · Phys. Letters
Electrons from transitions feeding the 8.4-kev level in Er/sup 169/ and Yb/sup 169/ decay were detected with an intermediateimage BETA -spectrometer. The M- or N-electrons de-exciting the level were detected similarly. From coincidences observed between the two groups of electrons, the half life was determined (from the combined Er/sup 169/ and Yb/sup 169/ data) to be 4.36 plus or minus 0.17 nsec. (D.C.W.)
