The concepts of risk management are being applied to the pipeline industry, with a promise of addressing the concerns of public safety. At the same time, the application will allow the operators more flexibility to make good business decisions. The concepts of risk management and loss prevention are discussed from the perspective of a risk insurer for many companies in the industry.
