Radial electric field in a plasma of a positive column of a low-pressure discharge

The electric field of a positive column of xenon discharge in a tube placed in an axial magnetic field is investigated. The dependence of the radial voltage on the magnetic field is measured. The experimental data obtained on the radial electric field are described by the expression E(r) = Cr{sup n}, with the index n depending on the magnetic field. 3 refs., 4 figs.
