Influence of collective processes on stationary state and charge compensation of ion beams

In the present message the review of last years works of the authors is submitted. There is investigated influence of collective processes on stationary state of compensated ion beams in a gas media after plasma source. It is shown theoretically, that at low gas pressure in volume of astable negative ion beam a new positive difference of potential appears. Its meaning is near experimental one. Theory of stationary plasma dynamics gives far smaller meaning of difference potential. Here is determined electrical field of astable compensated beam at the account of slow electron heating in a high-frequency plasma field. Theory of astable beam charge decompensation in a gas media is proposed. Potential distributions in partly compensated positive and negative ion beams are obtained. It is found the expression for critical density of gas, is lower which the beams of negative ions become decompensated on charge. Account of distribution of ion beam potential in linac injector is indicated. {copyright} {ital 1996 American Institute of Physics.}
