An experimental test of the law of baryon conservation
- Case Inst. of Tech., Cleveland, OH (United States)
A 162 m2 steradian scintillation detector located 3200 m below surface was used to look to high energy fragments from baryon non-conserving nucleon decay. A lower limit on the lifetime of the nucleon from 2 x 1028 to 8 x 1029 years, depending on the assumed decay mode is established.
