Within the framework of Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida indirect-exchange interaction theory, the generalized susceptibilities, χ(q), have been calculated for the heavy rare earth metals, Gd, Dy, Er, and Lu, along the line Γ to A of the Brillouin zone.
