Isgur-Wise function and {ital V}{sub {ital c}{ital b}} from Bethe-Salpeter equations

We calculate the Isgur-Wise function from the solutions of the Bethe-Salpeter equations. The shape of the Isgur-Wise function thus calculated is a prediction of the Bethe-Salpeter equations and does not depend on undetermined parameters. We develop a best fit to the numerically computed Isgur-Wise function in the form {xi}({omega})={eta}[1{minus}{rho}{sup 2}/{eta}({omega}{minus}1)+{ital a}({omega}{minus}1){sup 3/2}], where {rho}{sup 2}=1.279, {ital a}=0.91, {eta}=0.9942, and {omega} is the recoil velocity. The Isgur-Wise function is then used to obtain {ital V}{sub {ital c}{ital b}} from the recent experimental data of {ital {bar B}}{r_arrow}{ital D}{sup *}{ital l}{bar {nu}} decay. Our best estimate of {ital V}{sub {ital c}{ital b}} is (34.7{plus_minus}2.5){times}10{sup {minus}3}, which is comparable to some of the latest estimates in the literature.
