Operating the nation`s leading natural gas gathering/processing network means a growing reliance on electronic data systems capable of providing immediate access to vital information. GPM reached a major milestone during the third quarter of 1996--building the largest electronic flow measurement and radio telemetry infrastructure in the natural gas gathering and processing business. More than 17,000 gas meters are connected to the system along the company`s 26,000 miles of gathering lines. No other gatherer/processor has built such an extensive infrastructure. The company set a goal in 1994 to operate 100 percent with electronic flow measurement (EFM) and radio telemetry by year-end 1996.
