From 4th international seminar on heat and mass transfer in liquid metals; Trojir, Yugoslavia (6 Sep 1971). See CONFA multiregion analysis of the effects of lateral rod displacement on the heat-transfer behavior of the displaced rod is presented, for longitudinal, laminar flow through closely packed rod bundles. Theoretical equations describing the temperature fields in the fuel core, cladding, and elemental coolant flow area are derived, and the series coefficients determined by constructing a set of orthonormal functions, followed by solving a matrix equation. Rod-average. Nusselt numbers of the displaced rod are calculated, for the case of uniform fuel power density in the fuel core, as a function of P/D ratio, cladding thickness, thermal conductivity ratios and fractional displacement distance.
