Doping of Gd{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Cu{sub 2}Ti{sub 2}O{sub 11-{delta}}

The compounds Gd{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Cu{sub 2}Ti{sub 2{minus}x}M{sub x}O{sub 11{minus}{delta}} (M = Al, Co) were prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The structure was refined by Rietveld calculations. Additional investigations such as magnetic measurements and impedance spectroscopy were performed in order to determine the physical properties of Gd{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Cu{sub 2}Ti{sub 2{minus}x}M{sub x}O{sub 11{minus}{delta}}. SQUID measurements revealed the presence of a superconducting phase in the compound with the formal composition Gd{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Cu{sub 2}Ti{sub 1.6}Al{sub 0.4}O{sub 11{minus}{delta}}. A transition temperature (T{sub c}) of 25 K was observed.
