Doppler Shifts with Gas Backings: Slowing Down of Ions in Krypton
Journal Article
·
· Physical Review. C, Nuclear Physics
Doppler shifts of gamma rays emitted frorn excited states of nuclei slowing down in krypton gas have been measured. The particular excited states studied were chosen because they have mean lives which are well known. The measured Doppler shifts are used to gain information concerning the slowing-down properties of krypton for the recoiling ions.
