From 1st international conference on stable isotopes in chemistry, biology, and medicine; Argonne, Illinois, USA (9 May 1973). In proceedings of the first international conference on stable isotopes in chemistry, biology, and medicine. A description of a multiplexed quadrupole GC/MS system that was developed for quantitative isotope dilution methods of this type, and two applications that illustrate their sensitivity and versatility are presented. The first is an isotope dilution assay for amphetamine and the second is a procedure for the simultaneous measurement of endogenous and /sup 2/H-labeled tracer variants of choline and acetylcholine.
