Charge scavenging by benzene in $gamma$-irradiated liquid cyclohexane

Journal Article · · Can. J. Chem., v. 51, no. 1, pp. 149-151
OSTI ID:4427089
The effect of benzene on the yield of propane formed by H/sub 2/ transfer to cyclopropane in gamma -irradiated liquid cyclohexane was used to determine the efficiency of cation scavenging by benzene. The reduction of the hydrogen yield from cyclohexane by the addition of low concentrations of benzene may be accounted for by a combination of cation and H atom scavenging. G(benzene in polymer) found in previous studies correlates well with G(H atoms scavenged). (auth)
