The reaction pi /sup -/p yields p omega pi /sup -/ was studied at 9.1 GeV/c, its tot al cross section is sigma = (123 plus or minus 22) mu b. The pB/sup -/ and the quasi-threebody channels contribute with cross sections of sigma = (24 plus or minus 7) mu b and sigma = (94 plus or minus 23) mu b, respectively. The main features of the quasi-three-body p omega pi - channel, displayed by some techniques of data presentation, are satisfactorily described by a doubleRegge-pole model. In this model pomeron-meson and mesonmeson exchanges are taken into account. An OPE model a la Veneziano predicts a total cross section too high and reproduces very poorly the observed features.
