Spectrophotometric determination of erbium in a mixture with lanthanum by means of methylthymol blue and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (in Russian)

The formation of ternary complexes in the interaction of rare earth ions with methylthymol blue in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide has been studied spectrophotometrically. A pH range of the existence of the complexes and a component ratio have been determined. A method has been developed for determining Er/sub 2/O/sub 3/) in Er/sub 2/O/sub 3/ + La/sub 2/O/sub 3/. The method i s based on higher siability of yttrium group in comparison with lanthanum ones. The sensitivity is 1 to 2%. The coefficient of variation is 2 to 16%. (auth)
