Control system for electron accelerator (in Japanese)

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4409588
A control method for the stable and equal operation of several electron accelerators connected in parallel to a single high-voltage source is described. The filament circuit of the electron-gun power supply of each electron accelerator has a filament current detecting resistance connected thereto. Each electron accelerator has feedback paths connected thereto, which extend from the detecting resistance to the electron-gun power source of the particular electron accelerator and to those of the other electron accelerators. A detecting signal of the resistance is negatively fed back to the particular electron-gun power source by a feedback quantity of - BETA . Simultaneously therewith, the signal is positively fed back to each of the electron-gun power supplies of the other electron accelerators. An appropriate selection of the value BETA holds the electron currents uniform. (JA)
