Translated from Prib. Tekh. Eksp.; 16: No. 3, 71-74(1973). An operative method is proposed for the absolute energy calibration of low-pressure counters containing hydrogen which are designed for the spectrometry of neutron radiation in the energy range from 5 to 200 keV. The method is based on comparing the calculated spectrum of energy evolution of /sup 3/He(n,p)T-reaction products in the sensing volume of the detector with the experimental amplitude distribution of pulses that develops when the detector is irradiated with thermal neutrons.
