Polarization of a coherent bremsstrahlung beam from the Sirius electron synchrotron

Translated from Prib. Tekh. Eksp.; 16: No. 3, 24-27(1973). A linearly polarized gamma -beann was obtained from a diamond target on the Sirius'' electron synchrotron (Tomsk). The synchrotron is being used in an experirnent on measurement of the asymmetry of the photoproduction of pi -mesons. The orientation of the crystals was chosen in such a way that the required accuracy was obtained in a minimal measurement time. The actual values of the polarization were calculated from the experimentally measured spectrum of the coherent bremsstrahlung. (auth)
