K$sup -$d and K$sup -$np reactions at 727 MeV/c

The differential cross sections for K/sup -/d yields K/sup -/d and K/ sup /d yields K /sup -/np scattering at an incident K- momentum of 726.7 MeV/c were determined experimentally. These distributions were analyzed using the predictions based upon the Glauber model. Known K/sup -/p amplitudes from hydrogen data along with variable K/sup -/n amplitudes were used as input to the model. K/sup -/d yields K/sup -/d data from experiments with beam momenta between 700 and 1200 MeV/c were also analyzed and compared with this experiment. The K/sup -/n elas tic differential cross section obtained from the spectator model was also measured and analyzed in terms of partial waves. It is found that the data can be represented using only background terms plus the known D/sub 13/ EPSILON (1660). (auth)
