Observations of neutral hydrogen near the galactic plane

Journal Article · · Astron. Astrophys., Suppl. Ser., v. 12, no. 2, pp. 145-202
OSTI ID:4397597
The 300 foot telescope of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory was used to obtain 21 cm line profiles of hydrogen emission near the galactic plane. The region 1 approximately 15 deg to 225 deg was scanned at intervals of about 2 deg in latitude to an extent of about 20 deg on either side of the galactic equator. The reduced observations are presented as maps of antenna temperature contours in velocity--longitude coordinates. A number of constant longitude scans, cutting through the equator primarily in the first longitude quadrant, was also obtained. (auth)
