Resonance structure in K$sup -$N $Yields$ Y$pi$ reactions in the center of mass energy range 1550 to 1650 MeV

The cross sections are determimed for the reactions K/sup -/n yields yields LAMBDA /sup -/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup 0/, and K/sup -/ n/ yields EPSILON / sup 0/ pi /sup -/ in t he center of mass energy range 1550-- 1650 MeV. An energy- dependent partial wave analysis is made of the two-body final states, and evidence is presented for an I = 1, S = -- 1 baryon reaonance at 1625 MeV with a full width of 45 MeV. A spin-parity assignment of 1/2/sup -/ is made for this resonance. (auth)
