A coupling is described for pipes or tubes having V-shaped flanges. It comprises a band having two or more links pivotally connected together, with the free ends of the band connected by a toggle fastener comprising a lever pivotally connected to one of the free ends through a link. The lever has a screw the foot of which engages the other free end of the band; alteration of the position of the screw adjusts the extent by which the toggle can draw the two free ends of the band together. It is thought that such a coupling would be particularly useful in nuclear plants where it is often importnt that after removal of a coupling it should be capable of replacement in a minimum amount of time.
