The biosynthesis and metabolism of taurine in mice are considered. As the rate of elimination of taurine through the urine after irradiation seems to be correlated with therapeutic activity of the substance in the the treatment of some radiation effects, the basis for an experimental evaluation of the activity of taurine at lymphoid tissue level is outlined.
